Gems Of Bosphorus

ABOUT THE TOUR

This tour visits main historical sites from Roman and Byzantine era. It starts at 09:00 am from your hotel and finishes around 17:00. The tour can be longer or shorter depending on your interest. We will run this tour by a private van but if you are 2 people we can use public transport as well. 

This is a great tour if you have an interest to Byzantine and Roman era of Istanbul and your profesional local guide will bring that era back to life with their great stories. 

THE TOUR COVERS: Little Hagia Sophia Mosque, Hagia Irine Church, Hagia Sophia, Hippodrome, Basilica Cistern, Chora Church, Ecumenical Patriarchate of Greek Orthodox World and some secret sites. 

INCLUDED: Hotel pick up and drop back, Entrance fees to the sites, Guiding by Professional Tourist Guide, Full Day Private Van (Mercedes Vito or Mercedes Sprinter), Lunch at at a local restaurant.

 

THE ITINERARY

After meeting your guide you will head to Dolmabahce Palace first. This was the last of the Ottoman Palaces to be built. It’s outlandish Baroque style is an unforgettable experience. With your guide, you will wander the corridors of the palace, visit Sultan’s rooms and see the lifestyle of the ladies in the harem of the palace. Then we will board our boat for a 1.5 hours Bosphorus cruise. During the cruise you will see Ottoman palaces and houses, fortresses and get a taste of Ottoman life on the Bosphorus.

Then we head to the Asian side of Istanbul by boat.  First we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant which serves homemade dishes. After lunch you will walk through the market areas of this district and then drive to Camlica Hill which has a breathtaking view of the Bosphorus and surrounds. After enjoying a Turkish Coffee here, we continue back to the Bosphorus and visit Beylerbeyi Palace.

Built as a smaller summer palace in 1861 by Adbulaziz and used to entertain foreign nobility, these days still very impressive with its ornaments and decorations. After spending some time here we will wander down the alleyways near this palace and then take a ferry back to the European side of Istanbul to your hotel.

You will be met at your hotel by your guide and your private A/C van. After the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel by the van as well.
